Exophthalmos
SYMPTOMS. There will be a protrusion of the eyeball.
CAUSES may be from excessive thyroid functioning (called hyperthyroidism), a
blood vessel clotting in the eye socket, tumor, an injury, accumulation of
fluid (called edema) or inflammation.
TREATMENT. If tumor, surgery may be required. Medication may be prescribed.
